Tentstation

The gas station can be recognized worldwide by it’s brightly coloured floating roof that lights up its surroundings like a space ship. One could consider the gas station the symbol of our industrialized world. Where they pop-up in the landscape, urban development is on it’s way.
Tent station is a temporary installation in the Wadden Sea at the coast of Terschelling, presented during the Oerol festival. Once a large gas field was discovered in 1959 the North Sea Coast became a mining district which generated a ongoing debate about preservation versus extracting the gasfields.
